- Always carry your Northwestern University identification
card (WildCARD).
It is required for accessing care at the Health Service.
- Always carry your hospitalization insurance identification
card. Learn what is covered away from home and campus (e.g.
vacation, internships, international travel, etc).
- Explore this Website for the Health Service as a resource for hours,
services and comprehensive information.
- There is no charge for practitioner visits to the Health
Service during any quarter in which you are registered as
a full-time regular day student.
- Fees are incurred at the Health Service for certain diagnostic
tests, medications, vaccines, treatments and medical equipment.
Payment by cash, check, and certain credit cards or ATM
cards is expected at the time service is rendered. A receipt
will be provided which you may use for insurance reimbursement
as appropriate.
- No medical information will be released to any party (including
personal physicians, friends who may be physicians unless
the patient provides the appropriate consent.
- Requests for releasing medical
information to outside resources typically take one
week to process. A fee will be charged for certain types
of requests.
- Become familiar and follow as appropriate the policies
on missed classes and exams which is also detailed in the
Student
Handbook.
- Plan ahead, particularly if physical exams, laboratory
tests, refills of prescriptions
or international travel vaccines
are needed. Call as soon as you have these health care needs
to make an appointment.
- If you are ill or have any type of health question, call
the Health Service first. The Health Service staff can direct
you to the appropriate facility and discuss care options.
